It conducted 1,600 engine-run cycles that revealed no adverse findings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company established these tests as part of its preparation for the 105,000 lb-thrust GE9X engine. It reflects the company&#8217;s increased focus on durability following reliability issues affecting both GE&#8217;s engines and competitors&#8217; models in recent years, as flagged by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flightglobal.com\/engines\/ge-nears-completion-of-more-ge9x-dust-ingestion-tests-amid-broader-industry-durability-push\/163284.article\" rel=\"nofollow\">Flight Global<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GE&#8217;s enhanced testing protocols address durability shortfalls that particularly affected power plants operated in dusty and sandy regions such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/middle-east\/\">Middle East<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company recently rolled out durability improvement kits for <strong>CFM Leap-1A turbofans<\/strong>, which power <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/airbus-a320neo\/\">Airbus A320neo-family<\/a> jets, consisting of tweaked high-pressure turbine blades and nozzles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/safran\/\">Safran<\/a> chief executive Olivier Andries noted in 2023 that Leap engines suffered significantly in harsh conditions.
