The issue reportedly involved the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine\u2019s anti-ice systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flight DL275 had been en route from Detroit (DTW) to <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Tokyo\">Tokyo (HND)<\/a> on a regularly scheduled trans-Pacific route when the crew encountered a technical issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The problem, as communicated to passengers, involved the engine\u2019s anti-ice systems\u2014a critical component for high-altitude operations, particularly over colder regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather than continue across the Pacific Ocean, the pilots chose to divert to Los Angeles (LAX), a major Delta hub with maintenance capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft touched down safely on Runway 06R approximately 5.5 hours after the diversion decision was made. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the safe landing, Delta Air Lines (DL) cancelled the remainder of the flight. The aircraft remains grounded for over 22 hours after landing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New York (JFK) to Atlanta (ATL)<\/strong>: Delta flight DL2286, a Boeing 757-200 (N711ZX), diverted to Charlotte Douglas Airport (CLT) after the crew detected the smell of smoke in the cockpit.
