ATLANTA-<\/strong> Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> now faces 11 lawsuits over the crash landing of Flight DL4819 at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)<\/a> on February 17. The Bombardier CRJ regional jet flipped upside down on a slippery runway, but saw all 80 passengers and crew survived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers claim \u201cextreme injuries,\u201d citing negligence by Delta and its subsidiary, Endeavor Air (4N)<\/a>. Legal filings reference the Montreal Convention, which governs airline liability during international flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Faces 11 Lawsuit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The crash of Flight DL4819, which originated from Minneapolis to Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), has become the center of mounting legal actions against Delta Air Lines (DL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lawsuits allege that the airline bears responsibility under the Montreal Convention<\/a>, a treaty that holds carriers liable for injuries suffered during international flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some cases go further, citing Delta for negligence and pointing to a pattern of operational failures that allegedly contributed to the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the plaintiffs is Marthinus Lourens, who claims he was drenched in jet fuel and suffered injuries to his head, neck, and back while hanging upside down in the cabin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another passenger, Hannah Krebs, states in her complaint that she was violently tossed around when the aircraft overturned, resulting in physical trauma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reported by PYOK<\/a>, the lawsuits collectively describe what plaintiffs call an \u201cextensive litany of errors and omissions\u201d on Delta’s part, both before and during the flight’s landing attempt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
