For non-flying employees, the airline will honor full bonuses as per contract agreements, but has not announced an additional ex-gratia payment for <strong>FY2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bonus initiative comes in recognition of the airline\u2019s strategic execution and resilience. Strategic scheduling during high-demand events, such as the Maha Kumbh Mela, helped boost passenger load factors and yields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline continues to optimize its fleet by reducing the number of grounded aircraft and monitoring demand to minimize reliance on expensive wet leases. The transaction involves up to a 3.4% stake in IndiGo, the largest airline in India by market share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rakesh Gangwal, who co-founded IndiGo in 2006 with Rahul Bhatia, continues to reduce his ownership in the carrier. The latest stake sale, executed via a block deal, will further cut his family\u2019s combined stake from the current <strong>13.5%<\/strong>. This includes shares held under <strong>the Chinkerpoo Family Trust<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gangwal stepped down from IndiGo\u2019s board in <strong>February 2022<\/strong>, citing his intention to fully exit the airline over five years. At the time, the Gangwal family held a <strong>36.6% stake<\/strong> in the airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This marks the third major stake reduction following significant sales in <strong>March 2024<\/strong> and <strong>August 2024<\/strong>, where shares worth <strong>over $800 million and $1.12 billion<\/strong> were sold, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investment banks <strong>Goldman Sachs<\/strong>, <strong>JP Morgan<\/strong>, and <strong>Morgan Stanley<\/strong> are advising the family on the latest sale, demonstrating continued institutional interest in IndiGo\u2019s stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current stake sale does not appear to affect investor sentiment adversely.
