MUMBAI- <\/strong>India\u2019s largest LCC, IndiGo Airlines (6E)<\/a>, is making calculated move to integrate its long-haul network with regional demand by enhancing connectivity between Mumbai and Thailand. Effective July 1, 2025, IndiGo will add a second daily service to both Phuket (HKT) and Bangkok (BKK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only this, the airline will also retime its existing Thailand<\/a>-bound flights to ensure smooth connections with its about-to-launch long-haul routes to Manchester and Amsterdam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upgrade in the network is clearly designed to position Mumbai as a gateway. This comes at a time when flights from Delhi are unviable. IndiGo plans to serve both Southeast Asia and Europe through seamless, same-day two-way connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travelers can now fly between Thailand and Europe, especially leisure tourists and VFR (visiting friends and relatives) traffic via India. The new flights by IndiGo offer an unprecedented level of convenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo Doubles Flights to Phuket and Bangkok<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the addition of the second daily frequency, both Phuket and Bangkok will now have two daily flights from Mumbai<\/a>. This offers more flexibility and time-of-day options for travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Phuket, the new afternoon departure from Mumbai complements the existing early morning service. The return flights from Thailand are well-timed in the mid-morning and late-night slots. The new flights provide options that connect efficiently with early morning Europe departures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A similar structure has been applied to Bangkok services. IndiGo will add a new late-afternoon Mumbai\u2013Bangkok departure and the late-night Bangkok\u2013Mumbai return flight. This fits precisely into the connection window with IndiGo\u2019s Manchester and Amsterdam services. The airline is ensuring travelers from Thailand can connect to European flights with minimal layover time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights Schedules<\/strong>:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Effective July 1, 2025<\/strong>, IndiGo will start an afternoon flight to Phuket with the timings as below:
Flight 6E 1089 to Phuket will depart from Mumbai at 03:25 pm IST. The flight will reach Phuket at 09:35 pm local time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The return flight, 6E 1090, will depart from Phuket at 10:50 pm local time after a 1-hour and 15-minute layover. The flight will reach Mumbai at 01:45 am IST the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new Bangkok flight is also timed pretty much similarly. Flight 6E 1059 will depart from Mumbai at 04:20 pm IST and will reach Bangkok at 10:40 pm local time<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The return flight from Bangkok, 6E 1060, will depart from Bangkok at 11:40 pm local time after an hour of layover and will land in Mumbai at 02:50 am IST the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from the new flights, the existing daily service to Bangkok and Phuket will also be retimed. These new schedules enable passengers flying into Mumbai from Europe to connect to either of the two Thai cities on the same day or vice versa. This is something that adds immense value, especially for budget-conscious travelers who are looking for budget-friendly itineraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How seamless<\/strong> are the connections in Mumbai?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The retimed Thailand services are intentionally aligned with IndiGo\u2019s new 3x weekly long-haul operations from Mumbai to both Manchester<\/a> and Amsterdam. Flights from Manchester land in Mumbai at 01:35 am IST and Amsterdam<\/a> at 01:55 am IST. The retimed flights to both Phuket and Bangkok depart within a few hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, the newly added return flights from Thailand arrive in Mumbai around 01:55 am IST and 02:50 am IST, about 1.5 to 3 hours prior to Europe departures at 04:15 (Manchester) and 05:20 (Amsterdam).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, IndiGo\u2019s Krabi (KBV) flight already fits within this hub strategy and offers nice two-way connectivity to Europe-bound travelers. With this expansion, Thailand becomes IndiGo\u2019s most integrated Southeast Asian country in terms of onward Europe connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategic Expansion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo\u2019s network planning is now visibly shifting toward maximizing synergy between its short-haul Asian operations and its long-haul European destinations. This level of scheduling and hub connectivity puts it in the league of hybrid carriers that offer expansive reach at an affordable price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move also strengthens Mumbai\u2019s role as IndiGo\u2019s long-haul departure hub\u2014something that has accelerated ever since Pakistani airspace restrictions limited Delhi\u2019s westbound reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo appears to be experimenting with a hub-and-spoke model ahead of the arrival of its own Airbus A350 aircraft<\/a>. This strategy is likely a preview of what\u2019s to come, with more such international connections expected shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the cities poised to benefit the most are Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Bengaluru already stands out as IndiGo\u2019s most diverse Southeast Asian hub, offering the widest range of destinations to the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
