NEW YORK-<\/strong> Atlanta-based carrier Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> has launched a new nonstop route connecting New York\u2013John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York, to Catania\u2013Fontanarossa Airport (CTA), marking its first-ever direct service to Sicily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The daily Boeing 767-300<\/a> flight begins May 21, 2025, and establishes the only nonstop connection between the U.S. and Catania, enhancing access to southern Italy\u2019s cultural and natural treasures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta\u2019s new service expands its Italian network to five cities: Rome (FCO), Milan (MXP), Venice (VCE), Naples (NAP), and now Catania (CTA). This strategic addition responds to strong demand from leisure travelers and the large Italian-American community with roots in Sicily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catania, located on Sicily\u2019s eastern coast near Mount Etna, offers travelers easy access to historical gems like Taormina, Siracusa, and Noto. The city\u2019s unique blend of ancient architecture, local cuisine, and Mediterranean coastline makes it an increasingly sought-after destination for American tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta\u2019s JFK hub offers seamless connections to over 40 destinations<\/strong> across North America, including Los Angeles (LAX)<\/a>, Miami (MIA), and Chicago (ORD), allowing passengers from Sicily to travel more efficiently to major U.S. cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
