SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA-<\/strong> A recent in-flight dispute between a Cessna Citation (N323EZ)<\/a> and an ABX Air (GB) Boeing 767<\/a>, operating out of Southern California (LAX)<\/a>, escalated into an unprofessional exchange over air traffic control (ATC)<\/a> frequencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident unfolded when the slower private jet caused a delay for the Amazon cargo aircraft, prompting a verbal dispute between the two pilots that was caught on audio and widely circulated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The confrontation began shortly after both aircraft departed the Southern California region. The Cessna Citation, flying ahead, required ABX Air<\/a> 3111 (Boeing 767) to reduce speed for safe spacing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responding to the controller’s instruction, the cargo jet pilot replied, \u201cI need to go fast cause I\u2019m too fat to be going this slow,\u201d referring to the aircraft\u2019s heavy load.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet the Cessna pilot responded again, escalating tensions by saying, \u201cMaybe that\u2019s why he\u2019s a cargo dog and not working for a real carrier.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
