It focuses on safety drills, service protocols, and aircraft-specific simulations, reducing the need for trainees to travel to Chicago or Houston for recurrent training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure Chantilly training center, located minutes from its hub at <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Washington+Dulles\">Washington Dulles (IAD)<\/a>, flagged <a href=\"https:\/\/northernvirginiamag.com\/news\/2025\/05\/14\/new-united-flight-attendant-training-center-opens-in-chantilly\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Northern Virginia<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project broke ground in late 2024 and was completed within months to meet growing regional demand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The facility supports United\u2019s flight attendants in fulfilling the Federal Aviation Administration\u2019s (FAA) requirement for recurrent hands-on training every 18 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Full-scale simulators<\/strong>&nbsp;for all six United aircraft models, including Boeing 757 and Airbus A319.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hands-on equipment rooms<\/strong>&nbsp;with emergency ramps, life vests, and fire extinguishers for practical drills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Four classrooms<\/strong>&nbsp;hosting 32 students each, with daily sessions lasting 9.5 hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The center features full-scale simulators for all six aircraft types flown by United Airlines, enabling realistic, scenario-based instruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flight attendants practice CPR, emergency evacuations, fire response, and use of life-saving equipment such as oxygen masks, life vests, and fire extinguishers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dedicated rooms are equipped with emergency ramps and safety kits that replicate real-world airline conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four classrooms support up to 32 trainees each, with day-long sessions lasting up to nine and a half hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although initial qualifications, especially those requiring aquatic drills, still require travel to United\u2019s main facility in <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Houston\">Houston (IAH)<\/a>, the new destinations worldwide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to company representatives, United leads the region in flight volume and is continuing to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By 2026, United plans to open a new 435,000 sq ft concourse at Dulles, further increasing its capacity and fleet presence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With more aircraft and destinations, demand for trained flight attendants will rise.
