It is a key destination for <strong>10 million outbound Indian travellers<\/strong> annually, per DGCA data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Commercial Officer Praveen Iyer, speaking to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/industry\/transportation\/airlines-\/-aviation\/akasa-air-to-spread-its-wings-to-southeast-asia\/articleshow\/121195542.cms?from=mdr\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Economic Times<\/a><\/em>, outlined an aggressive international expansion. Iyer noted that Boeing\u2019s production issues, compounded by a seven-week strike, are resolving, with Akasa (QP) expecting its <strong>28th aircraft in May 2025<\/strong> and a fleet of 30 by July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This supports plans to double Gulf route frequencies and add Southeast Asian cities, serving 45% of international passengers connecting through Mumbai (BOM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Akasa Air (QP) faced significant hurdles due to Boeing\u2019s production slowdown, with <strong>310 of its 775 pilots grounded in 2024<\/strong>.
