MONTREAL-<\/strong> Air Canada (AC)<\/a> has unveiled its most expansive winter schedule to Latin America to date, featuring 16% more capacity than the previous year. The carrier will add four new destinations\u2014Rio de Janeiro (GIG)<\/strong>, Cartagena (CTG)<\/strong>, Guatemala City (GUA)<\/strong>, and Guadalajara (GDL)<\/strong>\u2014alongside 13 new routes across South and Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With more than 55 daily flights and over 80,000 weekly seats, Air Canada (AC) aims to offer the broadest Latin American network<\/strong> among Canadian airlines this winter. Key departures will operate from major Canadian cities including Toronto (YYZ)<\/strong>, Montreal (YUL)<\/strong>, Vancouver (YVR)<\/strong>, Ottawa (YOW)<\/strong>, Halifax (YHZ)<\/strong>, and Quebec City (YQB)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Canada New Destinations to Latin America<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Air Canada’s 2025\u201326 winter schedule reflects a strategic move to bolster connectivity between Canada and Latin America, enhancing options for leisure, business, and cargo services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the headline additions is a new Toronto (YYZ)\u2013Rio de Janeiro (GIG)<\/strong> route, operating three times weekly between December 4, 2025, and March 28, 2026. This complements existing South American coverage and introduces a vital connection to one of Brazil\u2019s most vibrant coastal cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further southbound expansions include Montreal (YUL)\u2013Santiago (SCL)<\/strong>, launching December 16, 2025, with three weekly departures, and new non-stop service from Toronto (YYZ)<\/strong> and Montreal (YUL)<\/strong> to Cartagena (CTG)<\/strong>, operating seasonally until April 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The increased South American presence underscores Air Canada’s goal to attract both Canadian travelers and global passengers transiting via Canadian hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Central America and the Caribbean Get a Boost<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Air Canada’s new routes also highlight a major push into Central America and the Caribbean<\/strong>, tapping into high-demand vacation and diaspora markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Montreal (YUL)<\/strong> will link with Guatemala City (GUA)<\/strong> twice weekly starting October 2, 2025, while Quebec City (YQB)<\/strong> will connect to Fort-de-France (FDF)<\/strong> every Sunday beginning December 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Toronto (YYZ)<\/strong>, new Saturday flights will serve Pointe-\u00e0-Pitre (PTP),<\/strong> and Guadalajara (GDL)<\/strong> will see three weekly flights starting November 4, 2025. This route marks Air Canada’s first non-stop service to Guadalajara, Mexico\u2019s tech and cultural hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhanced Sun Destinations<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Air Canada is leveraging regional airports to expand winter sun options. Ottawa (YOW)<\/strong> will gain new non-stop service to Nassau (NAS)<\/strong> and Montego Bay (MBJ)<\/strong>, operating once weekly from December 2025 through April 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Halifax (YHZ)<\/strong> adds similar service to Nassau (NAS)<\/strong> on Fridays and to Montego Bay (MBJ)<\/strong> on Thursdays, significantly enhancing Atlantic Canada\u2019s access to Caribbean destinations.
