ICELAND-<\/strong> Icelandair (FI)<\/a> has begun operating a new non-stop seasonal service linking Nashville (BNA)<\/a> and Keflav\u00edk (KEF) from April 12, 2025. This route becomes Icelandair’s eighteenth North American destination, offering 4 weekly flights until October’s end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The direct flight will connect Music City (Nashville)<\/strong> to Europe. The 7-hour flights operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday using Boeing 737 MAX<\/a> aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Icelandair Keflavik to Nashville Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new connection will strengthen international ties between Nashville and Iceland (KEF) while creating opportunities for cultural and economic exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nashville International Airport (BNA) hosted a gate celebration<\/strong> featuring several distinguished speakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Svanhildur H\u00f3lm Valsd\u00f3ttir, Iceland’s Ambassador to the United States; Tomas Ingason, Chief Commercial Officer of Icelandair (FI); and Doug Kreulen, President and CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (BNA), delivered remarks highlighting the significance of this new service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional speakers included Tennessee Department of Tourist Development Commissioner Mark Ezell, Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell, and Deana Ivey, Chief Marketing Officer for the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation, who emphasized the economic and tourism benefits of this partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomas Ingason, Icelandair’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm. He stated that they are very excited to start this new service between Nashville (BNA) and Iceland (KEF). Partnership with Southwest Airlines<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Nashville’s largest carrier, Southwest Airlines (WN)<\/a>, recently announced an interline agreement with Icelandair (FI) to connect travelers on transatlantic itineraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customers can now book connecting flights through Nashville (BNA) and Denver (DEN) on Icelandair.com<\/em><\/a> and third-party websites, with service beginning May 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southwest’s record-high 180+ peak-day departures from Nashville (BNA)<\/strong> will offer connections to Iceland (KEF) and Europe. Nearly 90 North American airports are served directly from Nashville (BNA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
