These developments will further strengthen Bengaluru&#8217;s position as a premier aviation hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cargo-operations\">Cargo Operations<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Cargo handling at Bengaluru Airport (BLR) crossed the 500,000 metric tonne threshold for the first time, processing a total of 502,480 metric tonnes during FY 2024-25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This represents a 14 percent year-on-year increase. <strong>International cargo grew by 21 percent to reach 321,418 metric tons<\/strong>, while domestic cargo increased by 4 percent to 181,062 metric tons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-new-cargo-facilities\">New Cargo Facilities<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The airport recently inaugurated a new domestic cargo terminal with an initial capacity of 345,000 tonnes, expandable to 400,000 tonnes.
