MUMBAI-<\/strong> A Virgin Atlantic (VS)<\/a> flight, VS358, from London (LHR)<\/a> to Mumbai (BOM)<\/a> was forced to make an emergency landing at Diyarbakir Airport (DIY) in Turkey<\/a><\/strong>, leaving more than 200 Indian passengers stranded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The travelers had been waiting for over 16 hours <\/strong>with minimal updates<\/strong> from Virgin Atlantic (VS) regarding their continued journey, as per News18<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emergency Landing Details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Virgin Atlantic (VS) flight, with registration G-VTEA<\/strong>, landed at Diyarbakir Airport (DIY) due to a medical emergency<\/strong> involving a passenger experiencing a panic attack. Reports also indicate that the plane may have also developed a technical issue during landing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Virgin Atlantic (VS) aircraft, an Airbus A350<\/a>, landed at Diyarbakir Airport (DIY), a remote facility that primarily functions as a military base<\/strong> and isn’t adequately equipped to accommodate large commercial planes. This has created additional challenges<\/strong> in getting the passengers back on their journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stranded travelers face difficult conditions at the airport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have been stranded in a semi-empty terminal building without communication. We have little children, women, and a few sick people, and we have no information apart from two handouts that were shared yesterday evening.”<\/p>A passenger told Republic<\/a> <\/em>news<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Another passenger explained their restricted movement: “We’ve not received accommodations, and we can’t even leave the airport as this is a military base.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many passengers report receiving minimal updates from Virgin Atlantic (VS) regarding alternative travel arrangements to complete their journey to Mumbai (BOM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
