ROME-<\/strong> ITA Airways (AZ) <\/a>has received approval to begin integration into Star Alliance <\/a>following a decision by the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This development builds on ITA Airways’ recent induction into the Lufthansa (LH)<\/a> Group and accelerates its entry into the world’s largest airline alliance.<\/strong> Star Alliance currently offers 17,500 daily flights to over 1,150 airports!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Integration Benefits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ITA Airways (AZ) will contribute 360 daily flights to the Star Alliance network, enhancing the alliance’s European coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most significant growth will occur in Rome (FCO)<\/a> and Milan (MXP)<\/strong>, cities currently served by 16 Star Alliance members.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lufthansa Group, leveraging its established position within Star Alliance, will guide ITA Airways (AZ) through the integration process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Star Alliance CEO Theo Panagiotoulias announced that ITA Airways (AZ) will likely become a full member in early 2026. He said that the decision underscores the strong confidence their members have in ITA Airways (AZ). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
