IndiGo operates an international network of 13 destinations from Bengaluru<\/strong>, including locations in the Middle East (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Jeddah), Southeast Asia (Bangkok, Phuket, Langkawi, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore), South Asia (Colombo), island destinations (Male, Mauritius), and Indonesia (Denpasar-Bali).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline maintains over 200 daily departures <\/strong>from BLR Airport, serving both domestic and international routes. This substantial flight volume underscores the airport’s importance to IndiGo’s operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo has also established codeshare partnerships with several major international carriers, including Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, KLM, Malaysia Airlines, Air France, Qatar Airways, Japan Airlines, and Qantas. These partnerships extend BLR Airport’s global connectivity to key destinations like London Heathrow, Amsterdam, Paris, Doha, Tokyo, Sydney, and Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong Expansion and Competition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo’s operations at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport continue to be substantial despite recent competitive pressures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier operates 102 weekly international flights connecting 13 cities, offering 19,812 one-way seats with approximately 15 daily flights generating around 29 air traffic movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Kempegowda International ranks as India’s third busiest airport, IndiGo maintains a significant 53% capacity share with 12,588,898 seats. This represents a notable decrease from its previous dominant position of over 60% market share at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decline in IndiGo’s market share can be attributed primarily to strategic developments from competitors. Both Akasa Air (QP)<\/a> and Air India Express (IX) have designated Bengaluru as their primary hub, successfully launching multiple domestic and international routes. These expansions have directly impacted IndiGo’s previously commanding position at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite this increased competition, IndiGo remains the largest carrier at Bengaluru Airport, with its operations still accounting for more than half of the facility’s total capacity. The airline continues to utilize BLR Airport as its second-largest hub in India, connecting to 67 domestic destinations while maintaining its extensive international network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
