NEW YORK-<\/strong> Memphis-based FedEx Express (FX) <\/a>flight from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Indianapolis International Airport (IND) made an emergency landing <\/a>back at Newark on Saturday afternoon (March 1, 2025) amid technical issues with one of its engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight was operated by Boeing 767-3S2F, registered as N178FE. Further, it is a 5.6-year-old aircraft powered by GE CF6 engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to FlightRadar24 data, FedEx flight FX3609<\/strong> took off from Newark at 12:58 PM UTC. Shortly after takeoff, the flight crew reported a technical issue with the right engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this, the Flight Crew contacted ATC for emergency landing back at Newark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crew made a heavy landing at Newark Airport at 13:07 AM UTC. The aircraft remained airborne for just 9 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
