Flight DL43 took off from&nbsp;Runway 25R at 9:04 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, while climbing out over the&nbsp;Pacific Ocean, the crew stopped their ascent at&nbsp;10,000 feet (3,000m)&nbsp;after&nbsp;cabin crew reported smoke&nbsp;in the rear galley. The airline issued a statement emphasizing that&nbsp;passenger and crew safety is their top priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cNothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people.&nbsp;<em>That\u2019s why the flight crew followed established procedures to return to Los Angeles (LAX) after smoke was detected in the galley. We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travels<\/em>,\u201d stated an airline spokesperson.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation&nbsp;to determine the cause of the smoke.
