SEATTLE-<\/strong> Alaska Airlines (AS) <\/a>announced the termination of its operations at Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL), with final flights scheduled for May 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier currently operates five weekly roundtrip flights between Love Field and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaska Airlines Exits Dallas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The airline plans to consolidate its Dallas operations at DFW Airport, citing the facility’s central location and enhanced connectivity through its codeshare partnership with American Airlines (AA)<\/a>. This partnership enables passengers to access destinations across the Midwest and East Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers holding tickets for Seattle-Love Field flights beyond May 14 will receive automatic rebookings to DFW Airport. The departure impacts two gate positions within Love Field’s 20-gate capacity, creating potential opportunities for Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> and Southwest Airlines (WN)<\/a>, the remaining carriers at the facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City of Dallas acknowledged Alaska Airlines’ eight-year presence at Love Field, emphasizing its commitment to facilitating a smooth operational transition. Alaska Airlines unveiled an expansion of its summer 2025 network, launching inaugural nonstop flights between Anchorage and Detroit, Anchorage and Sacramento while restoring Fairbanks-Portland service. This expansion increases Alaska Airlines’ nonstop destinations from Anchorage to the Lower 48 and Hawaii to 15 summer routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Detroit and Sacramento routes initiate weekly Saturday service on June 14, operating through August 16 using Boeing 737 aircraft<\/a>. The Fairbanks-Portland route commences daily operations from May 15 to August 19, utilizing Embraer E175 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirsten Amrine, Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management, emphasizes these routes’ role in enhancing vacation accessibility to Alaska.
