PARIS-<\/strong> Airbus<\/a> is advancing its maritime patrol capabilities with a new variant of the A321XLR<\/a>, known as the A321 MPA (Maritime Patrol Aircraft). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) has awarded a risk-assessment study contract to Airbus Defence and Space, in partnership with Thales<\/a>, to evaluate the feasibility of this program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 24-month study will refine technical and economic aspects before the project\u2019s anticipated production launch in 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A321 MPA is designed to replace the Atlantique 2 fleet, enhancing France\u2019s maritime defense and nuclear deterrence capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
