airline\u2019s newly acquired Airbus A321LR aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With an approximate flight time of eight hours, the new route enhances accessibility to Florida, a popular winter destination for Icelandic travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This expansion adds Miami as Icelandair\u2019s 19th North American destination and its second Florida gateway, alongside <a in its 87-year history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This aircraft is the first of 3 scheduled for delivery before summer 2025 and is part of the airline\u2019s fleet renewal initiative. The A321LR, leased from <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/SMBC-Aviation\/\">SMBC Aviation Capital Limited<\/a>, will replace the Boeing 757, which has served as Icelandair\u2019s fleet backbone for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designed for efficiency and sustainability, the A321LR offers a seating capacity of 187 passengers, including 22 in Saga Premium and 165 in Economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Pratt &amp; Whitney GTF\u2122 engines, the aircraft achieves up to 30% greater fuel efficiency compared to the B757, reducing CO2 emissions and operational costs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its extended range of 4,000 nautical miles (7,400 km) ensures uninterrupted service to existing destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bogi Nils Bogason highlighted the A321LR\u2019s potential to enhance Icelandair\u2019s operational model, expand route options, and support environmental sustainability.
