The Envoy Air aircraft, operating as flight AA3724/ENY3724, made contact with the stationary A319 near O’Hare’s Global Terminal, resulting in wing damage to both aircraft.

The impact forced both planes to remain grounded for approximately one hour. The American Airlines A319, sustaining damage to its right wing, subsequently taxied to Terminal 3 where its 94 passengers and four crew members safely disembarked. Passengers aboard the Envoy Air E170, which suffered left wing damage, evacuated via a staircase at the incident site.

No injuries were reported among passengers, crew members, or ground personnel during this incident. The FAA’s investigation will examine the circumstances leading to this collision, particularly focusing on ground movement protocols and communication procedures between aircraft and ground control.

This event adds to the growing concern over airport ground safety, as similar incidents continue to occur across the globe.

Stay tuned with us.
