As of January 2025, the airline operates 28 planes, a number set to grow with these additions despite returning some aircraft to lessors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since October 2024, SpiceJet has expanded its fleet by adding 10 aircraft, three previously grounded and seven leased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past three months, SpiceJet has introduced over 60 new flights, improving its network and providing travelers with more destinations and enhanced connectivity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SpiceJet\u2019s Chairman and Managing Director, Ajay Singh, emphasized the airline\u2019s commitment to recovery and growth:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>\u201cOur plan to bring 10 aircraft back into service by mid-April is a reflection of SpiceJet\u2019s unwavering commitment to its growth and operational excellence. The airline\u2019s shares fell 5.7% to \u20b949.66 on the BSE Sensex amidst broader market declines. However, these developments have not deterred the airline&#8217;s focus on stability and growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, SpiceJet entered an agreement with StandardAero Inc., a leading US-based engine repair company, to service its grounded Boeing 737 MAX fleet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This partnership follows successful collaborations with CFM International, the LEAP-1B engine manufacturer, and a key lessor. The low-cost carrier will operate Boeing 737-800 aircraft from four major Indian cities &#8211; Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The special flight services will operate between January 12 and February 28, 2025, aligning with the festival period. This initiative aims to facilitate travel for millions of pilgrims attending what stands as one of the world&#8217;s largest religious congregations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new routes represent SpiceJet&#8217;s strategic expansion into religious tourism, establishing direct air connectivity to Prayagraj Airport (IXD) in Uttar Pradesh specifically for the Maha Kumbh Mela.
