NEW YORK-<\/strong> Air Canada (AC)<\/a> will relocate its operations to Terminal 6 (T6) at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)<\/a> in 2026. This move positions Air Canada among fellow Star Alliance<\/a> members in the cutting-edge terminal, marking a significant step in JFK’s $19 billion transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Canada (AC), a founding member of Star Alliance, will join Lufthansa (LH)<\/a>, SWISS (LX)<\/a>, ANA (NH)<\/a>, Austrian Airlines (OS), and Brussels Airlines (SN) in JFK\u2019s new Terminal 6. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The terminal is a key element in the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey\u2019s ambitious project to modernize JFK and make it a world-class travel hub. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airport invests $19 billion to build two terminals, expand current facilities, improve transportation access, and streamline traffic flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Terminal 6 promises a boutique, digital-first passenger experience. Travelers can expect NYC-inspired dining and retail, curated public art, and premium lounges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The terminal boasts sustainable design features and efficient layouts, including an average walking time of under five minutes from security to any gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JFK Airport Terminal 6 is under construction in 2 phases with phase 1 with 6 boarding gates opening in 2026 and full completion in 2028. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The terminal incorporates ten gates, with nine accommodating widebody aircraft, and features state-of-the-art baggage handling and security systems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers will benefit from one of JFK’s longest departure areas, complete with airline-specific drop-off zones and multiple lounge options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The terminal emphasizes both aesthetics and sustainability. New York City-inspired artwork, curated by the Public Art Fund in partnership with JMP and the Port Authority, will showcase local and international artists throughout the space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building incorporates sustainable materials, rooftop solar panels, and energy-efficient systems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project aims to achieve multiple environmental certifications, including LEED silver or gold, Envision, and SITES standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
