DUBAI-<\/strong> A tragic light plane crash <\/a>off the coast of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE on December 26<\/strong> claimed the lives of two individuals, including an Indian-origin doctor and a Pakistani <\/a>pilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident has left both families and the aviation community in mourning, as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 Killed in UAE Plane Crash<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The victims were 26-year-old Dr. Sulaymaan Al Majid, a clinical fellow in the UK, and a 26-year-old Pakistani woman pilot. The flight, intended as a sightseeing experience, ended in devastation shortly after takeoff near the Cove Rotana Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ill-fated flight was organized by the Jazirah Aviation Club<\/strong>. Dr. Sulaymaan Al Majid, accompanied by his family, had rented the light aircraft to enjoy a sightseeing tour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His father, Majid Mukarram, told Khaleej Times<\/a>, that the crash occurred shortly after takeoff at approximately 2 PM. Tragically, Sulaymaan’s younger brother, who was set to board the next flight, witnessed the accident unfold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, the family was informed that the aircraft had lost radio contact and had made an emergency landing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, their hopes were dashed when they arrived at the hospital and learned both occupants were critically injured. Efforts to resuscitate them proved unsuccessful, and Dr. Sulaymaan’s death was recorded shortly after 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed the incident and has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jazirah Aviation Club has pledged its full cooperation with the GCAA\u2019s investigation. Light aircraft crashes are rare but often subject to rigorous scrutiny to identify mechanical failures, pilot errors, or environmental factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities have assured the families of the victims that they are committed to uncovering the cause of the crash to prevent future occurrences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Sulaymaan was a rising star in the medical community, working at the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust in the UK<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was deeply involved in advocacy efforts, serving with the British Medical Association as honorary secretary and later as co-chair of the Northern Resident Doctors Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was a vocal advocate for pay restoration and called for the reclassification of “junior doctors” to “resident doctors.” Sulaymaan\u2019s contributions to the medical field and his passion for improving working conditions for his peers earned him widespread respect among colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crash has left Dr. Sulaymaan\u2019s family in profound grief. His father described him as the light of their lives, expressing the deep void his absence has created. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
