HYDERABAD\u2013 <\/strong>Air India Express (IX)<\/a>, the budget subsidiary of India\u2019s flag carrier Air India (AI), has announced the launch of non-stop flights connecting Hyderabad (HYD) to the vibrant Thailand city of Phuket (HKT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The services will commence on January 31, 2025, marking a significant milestone for the budget arm of India’s national carrier Air India as it forays into Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Express Hyderabad to Phuket Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This will be the first-ever direct flight linking Hyderabad to Phuket<\/a>, enhancing connectivity for leisure and business travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also marks Air India Express\u2019s debut in this spectacular tropical destination. This move shows the airline’s intention to cater to the growing demand for travel between India and Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This move also aligns well with Hyderabad Airport\u2019s<\/a> vision to improve international connectivity from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD). The GHIAL (GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited) officials had recently said that the plans are to add 10 new destinations from Hyderabad Airport (HYD) in 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyderabad-Phuket Flight Schedule<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Starting from 31st<\/sup> January 2025<\/strong>, the airline will launch 3x weekly flights between Hyderabad (HYD) and Phuket (HKT). Flights will be operated every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The airline plans to deploy B737 MAX 8. The frequency will be increased to 6x weekly on 20th February 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Air India Express\u2019s First Step into Phuket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Interestingly, while Air India Express has been serving destinations like Bangkok (BKK) <\/a>in Thailand for years, this marks the airline\u2019s debut in Phuket, diversifying its offerings in the Thai market. The airline\u2019s move comes at a time when the demand for flights to Thailand is surging, particularly driven by leisure travelers, who are exploring opportunities in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Speculations are swirling that Air India Express is planning to expand its Thailand network with a potential new route to Surat (STV) \u2013 Phuket (HKT). While the rumors have been spreading around on this, there is nothing concrete development from the airline\u2019s side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Aviation A2Z Sources also suggest that Air India Express is exploring the possibility of launching a direct Bengaluru (BLR) <\/a>to Phuket (HKT) route. However, this remains unconfirmed until the airline makes an official announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The Thailand-India market is undoubtedly growing tremendously in terms of flight additions. Recently, some reports suggested that AirAsia Thailand (FD) was said to be looking at Kochi (COK) and Phuket (HKT) sectors<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Just recently, Thai VietJet Air (VZ) debuted in India with its non-stop flights between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Mumbai (BOM) from 23rd<\/sup> December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Looking ahead, Air India Express is expected to start more Thai-India routes. From the Thailand side of airlines, Thai VietJet is looking to expand further in India with flights to cities like Delhi (DEL), Bengaluru (BLR), Ahmedabad (AMD), etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Thai AirAsia (FD) can be another airline to keep an eye on. The airline has been expanding into India. Will the airline be launching more new routes from Phuket (HKT)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
