DUBAI-<\/strong> Aeroflot (SU)<\/a> flight from Dubai (DXB)<\/a> to Moscow (SVO)<\/a> descended into chaos when a drunken passenger forced an emergency landing after attempting to smash a window mid-air. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident, involving 38-year-old Roman Pakhomov, ended with him restrained by fellow passengers and later detained by authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aeroflot Flight Emergency Landing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The quarrel began when Roman Pakhomov, reportedly intoxicated from alcohol he had brought on board, started verbally abusing crew members and passengers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Witnesses on the Aeroflot Boeing 777<\/a> described the scene as chaotic, with Pakhomov screaming, kicking, and lashing out. Passengers and crew initially restrained him using seatbelts <\/strong>and plastic handcuffs <\/strong>under the aircraft captain’s orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the situation escalated when Pakhomov broke free of his restraints. He then attempted to smash a window with his fists, prompting the captain to make an emergency landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) in Baku, Azerbaijan<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight remained grounded for 2 hours 45 minutes<\/strong> as authorities detained the disruptive passenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following his arrest, Pakhomov claimed to have no memory of the incident, attributed to his intoxication. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities in Azerbaijan are conducting an investigation to determine further actions. Meanwhile, the flight continued its journey to Moscow after the nearly three-hour delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Videos captured by passengers showed Portuguese police escorting the individual off the plane amidst applause from relieved travelers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to witnesses, the man was verbally abusive, spitting at flight attendants, and had a history of aggressive behavior at the hotel before boarding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such cases have raised alarms within the aviation industry, prompting calls for stricter regulations on alcohol consumption and passenger behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
