GURUGRAM-<\/strong> Indian FSC Air India (AI) <\/a>has achieved unprecedented growth in 2024, emerging as the fourth-largest revenue generator within the Tata Group following strategic mergers and operational expansions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline completed two significant consolidations – merging Air India Express (IX) with Air Asia India (I5) and integrating Vistara (UK)<\/a> into Air India’s operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Milestones in 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The consolidated airline now commands a workforce of 30,000 employees<\/strong> managing 300 aircraft. These aircraft serve over 60 million passengers annually <\/strong>across more than 100 destinations domestically and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India introduced India’s first Airbus A350 to its fleet and secured orders for an additional 100 aircraft<\/strong>. The airline established key infrastructure projects, including a new Training Academy in Gurugram, and a maintenance facility in Bengaluru, and announced plans for a 34-aircraft Flight School in Amravati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customer satisfaction metrics demonstrated substantial improvement, with the airline’s Net Promoter Score rising by 40 points. Air India secured additional aircraft orders and relocated approximately 4,000 employees<\/strong> from various airline backgrounds to the new Vatika campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These achievements represent the midpoint of Air India’s five-year Vihaan.AI transformation strategy. The airline plans significant fleet upgrades in 2025, including new seat installations across widebody and narrowbody aircraft.
