ISTANBUL-<\/strong> Boeing and Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines (PC)<\/a> announced an agreement for up to 200 Boeing 737 MAX 10 (737-10) <\/a>aircraft, marking a significant expansion and modernization of the Turkish low-cost carrier\u2019s fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The order includes 100 firm purchases of the 737-10 model, with options for an additional 100 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Boeing 737-10, the largest in the MAX series, accommodates up to 230 passengers and offers a range of 5,740 kilometers (3,100 nautical miles). Its advanced design reduces fuel consumption and emissions by 20% compared to older models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft\u2019s efficiency and flexibility will enable Pegasus Airlines to operate more cost-effective routes while increasing passenger capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pegasus Airlines CEO G\u00fcliz \u00d6zt\u00fcrk emphasized the airline\u2019s longstanding relationship with Boeing, dating back to its industry debut in 1990. “Expanding our fleet with the 737-10 aligns with our growth targets in T\u00fcrkiye <\/a>and internationally,” \u00d6zt\u00fcrk said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She noted that the firm orders are part of a broader strategy to expand Pegasus Airlines’ network by introducing new routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d6zt\u00fcrk also highlighted the airline\u2019s approach to managing the additional 100 aircraft options. “We will evaluate market conditions and fleet requirements to decide on converting the remaining options into firm orders in the coming years,” she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement reinforces Pegasus Airlines\u2019 commitment to sustainable growth and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boeing CEO Remarks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pegasus Airlines, which began operations nearly 35 years ago with the Boeing 737 Classic, is expanding its fleet with the addition of the Boeing 737-10 to support its growing travel demand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 737-10 will complement Pegasus’ existing Next-Generation 737 fleet, offering operational commonality and enhanced flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are proud to welcome Pegasus Airlines as the newest 737 MAX customer,” said Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. She emphasized the 737-10\u2019s efficiency, versatility, and reliability in meeting the demands of modern aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 737-10 will support Pegasus Airlines’ expansion into new markets across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa. Boeing <\/a>projects nearly 7,900 single-aisle aircraft deliveries to European and Central Asian operators over the next 20 years, underscoring the region’s potential for growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pegasus CEO G\u00fcliz \u00d6zt\u00fcrk noted that the order aligns with Boeing\u2019s National Aerospace Initiative with T\u00fcrkiye, launched in 2017. “This partnership will create new opportunities for Turkish manufacturers and contribute to the wider aviation industry,” \u00d6zt\u00fcrk said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline\u2019s purchase of 100 737-10 jets brings total orders for the 737 MAX series to over 1,200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
