LONDON-<\/strong> Unite, the UK’s leading union, has negotiated a substantial pay raise for 550 Qantas Airways (QF)<\/a> cabin crew members based at Heathrow Terminal 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workers will receive pay increases ranging from 11 to 18 percent, with the raises retroactively applied to July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas Cabin Crew Salary Hike<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The pay dispute originated in April when workers struggled to manage living costs under a four-year agreement signed in 2022. The original contract locked employees into an annual three percent increase, which failed to keep pace with rising expenses following the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas responded to national living wage increases by advancing this year’s pay raise for certain cabin crew grades in April. Seizing this opportunity, Unite reopened pay negotiations midway through the existing pay deal\u2014an unprecedented move that demonstrated the union’s strategic approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unite’s general secretary Sharon Graham <\/strong>highlighted the significance of the achievement. “This tremendous pay increase reflects the hard work and dedication of our representatives and members at Qantas,” Graham stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
