BOSTON-<\/strong> At Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) on Monday (November 25, 2024), an American Airlines (AA) <\/a>plane clipped the wing (collide) of a Frontier Airlines (F9)<\/a> aircraft at Terminal E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Frontier Airlines, the affected flight was en route to Dallas and carried 200 passengers. No injuries were reported to passengers or crew on the Frontier plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American and Frontier Planes Collide at Boston<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines stated that its flight 109 arriving from London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) made contact with a parked aircraft while pulling into the gate. The airline said there were no reported injuries, and passengers disembarked shortly after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massport, the agency that manages Boston Logan, confirmed the incident was minor and occurred at a slow speed. The airport authority reported no injuries resulting from the wing collision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both airlines expressed apologies for any inconvenience caused to their respective passengers. The American Airlines aircraft has been removed from service for inspection by the airline’s maintenance team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, an American Airlines Airbus A319 and an Envoy Air Embraer E170 aircraft were involved in a wing-to-wing collision at Chicago O’Hare <\/a>International Airport (ORD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the American Airlines flight AA2616 from Pittsburgh had landed and was waiting to reach its gate when the incident occurred. Meanwhile, the Envoy Air flight AA3724\/ENY3724 was taxiing to its gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collision took place on the northeast side of the O’Hare Global Terminal. Both aircraft were halted on the ground for approximately one hour following the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American Airlines A319 sustained damage to its right wing and later taxied to Terminal 3, where 94 passengers, two cabin crew, and two flight crew deboarded the aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Envoy Air E170 had a damaged left wing and was parked near the incident site. Passengers were deplaned from the Envoy Air aircraft using stairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, In September 2024, a collision occurred between two Delta Air Lines (DL) aircraft <\/a>at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Flight DL295, an Airbus A350-900 bound for Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, struck the wingtip of Endeavor Air Flight 5526, a Bombardier CRJ900 destined for Lafayette, Louisiana. The incident took place shortly after 10 AM as the Delta flight was taxiing for departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the planes were on alternate taxiways when the collision happened. Delta’s Tokyo-bound flight carried 221 passengers, while the Louisiana-bound Endeavor Air flight had 56 people on board. No injuries were reported by a spokesperson for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Delta Airbus A350-900 involved in the incident is registered as N503DN and is 7 years old, powered by Rolls Royce Trent XWB-84 engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
