TAIPEI-<\/strong> EVA Air (BR)<\/a> has confirmed its expansion plans with a new route to Dallas (DFW)<\/a>, Texas, set to begin on November 3 next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This decision aligns with the airline’s strategy to capitalize on the robust recovery in passenger demand across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eva Air Dallas Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During a legal briefing, EVA Air highlighted significant growth trends in global passenger traffic, with almost double-digit increases across regions. Long-haul routes showed notable revenue growth, while Asia-Pacific passenger demand surged as the region rebounded from the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Northeast Asia reported a 20.4% annual growth rate, surpassing the global average and signaling continued expansion into 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first ten months of this year, EVA Air reported an 8.4% year-on-year rise in passenger revenue, a 2% increase in passenger volume, and a 9.7% boost in transportation capacity. Regional contributions to revenue included 44% from the Americas, 19% from Northeast Asia, and 15% from Europe<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline’s focus on meeting rising demand highlights its confidence in the sector’s recovery and its strategic investment in long-haul and Asia-Pacific markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong Passenger Demand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

EVA Air has reported that post-pandemic airfares remain significantly higher than pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although some regions, such as Europe, Australia<\/a>, Hong Kong, and Macau, saw fares decrease in the first ten months of this year compared to the same period last year, fares in other regions either increased slightly or remained stable. Inflation and supply chain constraints have contributed to these sustained fare levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EVA Air General Manager Sun Jiaming confirmed that the airline is preparing for continued growth in passenger traffic in 2024. To meet demand, EVA Air will offer Spring Festival charter flights to Hakodate and additional passenger and cargo charter flights to Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Popular destinations, including Aomori and Matsuyama, will feature cherry blossom viewing flights. From April to October, the airline will add new flights to Kobe to support travel demand during the Osaka World Expo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In North America, EVA Air plans to expand its network with a ninth destination. The airline will launch five weekly flights to Dallas, Texas, starting November 3, 2024. This marks a significant addition to its North American operations, aligning with increasing travel demand across its network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights to One of the Busiest Airport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

General Manager Sun Jiaming noted that Dallas ranks as the world\u2019s third-busiest airport by passenger volume. The city has become a hub for high-tech businesses migrating from Silicon Valley, driving frequent business travel. The route will also facilitate connections to Central and South America, ensuring strong passenger and cargo load factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the freight side, Sun highlighted that freight rates, which began climbing at the end of Q1, have nearly returned to pandemic-era highs as of November, reflecting increased cargo demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EVA Air\u2019s fleet expansion aligns with its growth strategy. By the end of this year, the airline will operate 84 aircraft. Six Boeing 787 wide-body <\/a>passenger planes will join the fleet in Q1 2024, bringing the total to 90. Additionally, 41 more aircraft are scheduled for delivery after 2026, ensuring capacity for continued growth in both passenger and cargo operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
