GURUGRAM-<\/strong> India’s largest low-cost carrier, IndiGo Airlines (6E)<\/a> launched two new direct international flights from Pune (PNQ) on Friday (November 23, 2024), connecting the city to Dubai (DXB) and Bangkok (BKK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These flights, initially set to begin on October 27, were delayed before their eventual rollout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo International Flights to Dubai and Bangkok<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An IndiGo spokesperson emphasized the importance of these routes for Pune’s growing IT and automobile sectors, noting that the direct flights will enhance trade and tourism, driving economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pune-Dubai <\/a>flight departs daily at 17:40, arriving in Dubai at 22:10. The return flight leaves Dubai at 00:15. The Pune-Bangkok route operates three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing at 23:10, with the return flight leaving Bangkok at 01:15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo\u2019s Head of Global Sales, stated that with these additions, the airline now operates over 85 direct weekly flights to Thailand from eight Indian cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before these launches, Pune airport had only two direct international flights: a longstanding SpiceJet (SG) service to Dubai and an Air India (AI) flight to Singapore, introduced in December 2023. With the new connections, Pune now has four direct international routes, linking the city to three major destinations: Dubai, Bangkok<\/a>, and Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo operates a fleet of over 380 aircraft and connects 85 domestic and 30 international destinations with more than 2,100 daily flights. The airline holds a 63% share of the Indian domestic market, according to recent DGCA data. With this new route, IndiGo aims to enhance its international connectivity further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mauritius: 35th Int’l Destination Unlocked<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo launched direct flights from Bengaluru (BLR)<\/a> to Port Louis (MRU), Mauritius<\/a>, on November 19, marking its 35th international destination. The flight, with a duration of five and a half hours, operates four times a week. Port Louis becomes IndiGo\u2019s second African destination, following the launch of its Mumbai-Nairobi route in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight 6E1861 departs Bengaluru at 3:20 am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, arriving in Mauritius at 7:45 am local time. The return flight departs Mauritius at 9:30 am, landing in Bengaluru at 4:45 pm local time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo stated the new route meets rising tourism demand while promoting trade, investment, and business opportunities in the Indian Ocean region. Head of Global Sales, Vinay Malhotra, highlighted the deep cultural, political, and economic ties between India and Mauritius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted the visa-on-arrival facility for Indian passport holders enhances the route\u2019s appeal for leisure and business travelers. IndiGo reiterated its commitment to affordable, punctual, and seamless travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mauritius, known for its pristine beaches, clear waters, and lush tropical landscapes, is a prime destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its multicultural society fosters a harmonious environment, while the island\u2019s business-friendly policies and focus on innovation attract foreign investments. This blend of scenic beauty and economic potential positions Mauritius as an attractive choice for travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Port Louis is also linked to Mumbai (BOM) via Air Mauritius (MK) and Air India (AI) flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
