AUSTIN-<\/strong> Alaska Airlines Group-owned Hawaiian Airlines<\/a> is making several route and flight changes post-merger including Austin (AUS) flight cuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian Airlines Cuts Austin Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian Airlines announces the termination of its Honolulu (HNL)-Austin service, marking a significant network adjustment following its merger with Alaska Airlines<\/a>. The final flight from Austin (AUS) <\/a>to Honolulu (HNL) will operate on March 26, 2025, Ishrion Aviation<\/a><\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Austin route, launched in early 2021 alongside services to Orlando (MCO) and Ontario (ONT), emerged during Hawaiian’s COVID-19 network restructuring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Orlando service previously ceased operations in 2022 when Hawaiian redirected its long-haul aircraft to restore international routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current operations between Honolulu and Austin utilize an Airbus A330-200 for three weekly flights. The service will be reduced to twice-weekly flights in January 2025 before complete cessation in March. This route adjustment aligns with the broader network optimization strategy following the Alaska Air Group acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Route Changes Previously Reported<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian Airlines introduces a second daily flight between Honolulu (HNL) and Seattle (SEA) starting April 22, operating with its Airbus A330 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The network adjustments extend to the San Diego market, where Hawaiian Airlines will cease operations between Kahului (OGG) and San Diego (SAN) effective June 12. Alaska Airlines responds by doubling its presence on this route, launching a second daily flight to maintain market capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian Airlines strengthens its presence at Alaska\u2019s Seattle hub, while Alaska Airlines assumes full control of the San Diego-Kahului market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
