These routes were initially expected to return in the summer of 2025, but the cancellations mean these cities will not see service for at least another year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Air Canada will not resume its Toronto to Portland (PDX) route, which had been on hiatus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond route eliminations, the airline is reducing flight frequencies on several other U.S. routes, though specific reductions have not been detailed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-capacity-increase\">Capacity Increase<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, Air Canada is strategically increasing capacity on select routes by introducing mainline aircraft and boosting flight frequencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instance, the Toronto-to-Chicago (ORD) route will see an increase from four to six daily flights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting May 1, Toronto flights to Philadelphia (PHL), Raleigh\/Durham (RDU), and St. Louis (STL) will operate daily using the Airbus A220-300, marking a shift to mainline service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charlotte (CLT) will also gain daily mainline service with the Airbus A220-300 beginning June 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-35.png\" alt=\"Canadian national carrier, Air Canada (AC) plans to make several route cuts and capacity adjustments on US flight Routes for Summer 2025.\" class=\"wp-image-63340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-35.png 1024w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-35-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-35-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-35-150x100.png 150w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-35-450x300.png 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Markus Eigenheer | Flickr<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a330-to-tampa-florida\">A330 to Tampa, Florida<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Air Canada is upgrading its Toronto-Tampa route with Airbus A330-300 service starting February 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline will operate two daily widebody flights, replacing the previously planned four daily narrowbody frequencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This service enhancement will utilize the A330-300&#8217;s increased capacity to consolidate passenger demand on the route. The widebody deployment is currently scheduled to continue through February 28, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Air Canada will offer around 160,000 weekly seats to the U.S. during the peak of summer 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Air Canada is the largest carrier serving the Transborder market and will offer passengers more than&nbsp;<strong>200 daily flights<\/strong>&nbsp;to over 45 destinations in Summer 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay tuned with us.
