GURUGRAM-<\/strong> Two separate IndiGo Airlines (6E)<\/a> flights made an emergency landing in Delhi (DEL) and Kochi (COK) amid technical issues on November 19, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One was a domestic flight operated by ATR-72 aircraft and the other was an international flight operated by Airbus A321neo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo Flight Emergency Landing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An IndiGo flight experienced a critical technical emergency on November 19, forcing an unscheduled diversion to New Delhi. Flight 6E7468, originally traveling from Jaipur to Dehradun, encountered a severe engine failure during its mid-flight journey, compelling the flight crew to execute an immediate safety protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft suffered a significant mechanical issue while traversing northern India’s airspace, triggering an urgent decision by the pilots to reroute to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi. Passenger safety remained the paramount concern during the unexpected operational intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved in the incident is a 4.3-year-old ATR 72-600<\/a>, registered as VT-IRA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An IndiGo flight en route from Bengaluru to Male encountered a critical technical issue on Tuesday, necessitating an emergency landing at Kochi International Airport. Flight 6E1127, carrying 140 individuals, successfully diverted and landed safely at 2:21 pm after experiencing mid-flight mechanical complications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft comprised 136 passengers and four crew members, including 91 Indian nationals and 49 foreign nationals. The passenger demographic consisted of 71 men, 56 women, 9 children, and 4 infants, reflecting the diverse composition of the flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight was operated by a 4.7-year-old Airbus A321neo<\/a>, registered as VT-IUV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) activated full emergency protocols at 2:05 pm, managing the unscheduled landing with precision. The emergency was promptly withdrawn at 2:28 pm following successful operational completion, demonstrating the airport’s robust emergency response capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo airline confirmed the technical diversion, assuring passengers that the aircraft would undergo necessary maintenance before resuming operations. The carrier committed to arranging alternative transportation to minimize travel disruptions for affected passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
