HONOLULU-<\/strong> Hawaiian Airlines (HA)<\/a> restarts its non-stop flights between Auckland (AKL) and Honolulu (HNL) on November 16, resuming the seasonal route that had been paused for the winter months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight departs Auckland International Airport at 11:50 p.m. and lands at Honolulu\u2019s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport at 9:20 a.m. on the same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russell Williss, Hawaiian Airlines\u2019 New Zealand<\/a> country director, emphasized the strategic scheduling of the early arrival. \u201cOur morning arrival in Honolulu ensures guests have ample time to make the most of their first day in Hawai\u02bbi,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that the timing supports seamless transfers to accommodations or onward connections to the airline’s four Neighbor Island destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian Airlines has operated the Auckland-Honolulu route for over a decade, temporarily suspending it between April and November this year to concentrate on more profitable routes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resumed service will run three times weekly\u2014on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays\u2014through April 30, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers will travel aboard the airline\u2019s Airbus A330-300, which seats 278 passengers. The cabin layout includes 18 first-class seats, 68 extra comfort seats, and 192 in the main economy cabin, providing a range of options for travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meticulous Planning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian Airlines has prioritized meticulous planning to ensure the successful return of its Auckland-Honolulu service, according to Russell Williss, the airline’s New Zealand country director. He highlighted the enthusiasm among both passengers and employees for the resumption of this vital route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time, passengers will benefit from complimentary high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi during the transpacific flight. This enhancement is part of Hawaiian Airlines’ broader effort to improve the travel experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kiwi travelers will also gain access to over 140 destinations across the combined networks of Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines<\/a>, expanding connectivity from Auckland to cities across North and Central America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline also unveiled new livery designs ahead of the release of Moana 2<\/em>, featuring characters such as Moana, Maui, and the Kakamora. This marks the first of three special liveries, showcasing Hawaiian Airlines\u2019 commitment to celebrating Polynesian culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route’s revival increases competition, as Air New Zealand also operates three weekly flights between Auckland and Honolulu using its Boeing 787-9 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williss emphasized Hawaiian Airlines\u2019 dedication to connecting New Zealand and Hawai\u2018i. “We love connecting people with aloha and take our decade-long commitment seriously. Seeing Kiwi travelers light up when they see our Pualani tail at Auckland Airport is incredibly rewarding,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian Airlines has served the Auckland market since March 2013, bridging the two archipelagos across 4,400 miles of ocean. Despite the distance, Hawai\u2018i and New Zealand remain connected by shared cultural values and Pacific Island heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fleet comprises 18 Airbus A321neo single-aisle jets, 24 A330-200s, two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, and 19 717-200s primarily used for short-haul and inter-island flights. Additionally, the airline has four A330-300s and ten 787-9s on order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
