After being airborne for around four hours, at 35,000 feet, the flight faced <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Turbulence\">turbulence <\/a>near Greenland due to extreme weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A user who goes by <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/zamzam1925\" rel=\"nofollow\">ZamZamZam (@zamzam1925) \/ X<\/a> on X shared the images of the cabin after the turbulence and also shared the screenshot of weather patterns near Greenland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flight is operated by a 9.2-year-old Airbus A330-300, registered as <strong>LN-RKS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alexandra Lindgren Kaoukji, press manager at SAS stated,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>When severe turbulence occurs, the aircraft must always be carefully inspected. It is standard in the industry. We cannot do that study in the USA, it must be done at home, and in this case Copenhagen.&#8221;<\/p><cite>Alexandra Lindgren Kaoukji, press manager at SAS<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While a person onboard the flight typed on X, &#8220;I\u2018m on this flight. All information is that there is small damage. Another passenger declined medical assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports suggest the woman and child were not wearing seatbelts despite the seatbelt sign being on during the turbulence. A Qantas spokesperson commented, \u201cOur pilots and cabin crew are highly trained to manage various onboard situations, including turbulence, but we understand this would have been unsettling. We appreciate our customers\u2019 cooperation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turbulence, often caused by atmospheric instability near jet streams, can include clear-air turbulence, which occurs without visual warning and results from wind shear between fast-moving air masses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This incident follows a recent<a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/2024\/11\/12\/11-injured-on-lufthansa-flight-to-frankfurt-amid-severe-turbulence\/\"> Lufthansa (LH) flight from Buenos Aires (EZE) to Frankfurt (FRA) that encountered turbulence<\/a> over the Atlantic, injuring 11 people.
