It boosts connectivity from a major U.S. city and provides essential access from a key Trans-Atlantic hub.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that the Ministry and the <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Barbados\">Barbados <\/a>Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) will continue working with American Airlines to expand airlift to Barbados, aiming to surpass the 633,540 visitors recorded in 2023. \u201cCurrent numbers indicate we\u2019re on track to reach this goal,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister emphasized the service\u2019s importance for the upcoming \u201cWe Gatherin\u2019\u201d initiative. \u201cThis route arrives at an ideal time, following our participation in the World Travel Market in London, where we launched \u2018We Gatherin\u2019 for 2025. Seeing Akiel\u2014my first time flying with him\u2014made this flight memorable. I left Barbados in 2014 with a dream, and today I returned, piloting a Boeing 737 back home. Entrusted with a $150 million aircraft, bringing it back to Barbados for this inaugural flight is a defining moment in my career.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First Officer Akiel Alleyne, 31, shared similar feelings: \u201cThis is a career highlight. As a child, I spent hours watching planes at the Light Aeroplane Club and told my mom every year I\u2019d become an American Airlines pilot. Today, that dream came true.
