MOSCOW-<\/strong> Ukraine <\/a>has launched its largest drone attack on Moscow, Russia <\/a>since the war\u2019s start in 2022, injuring one person and causing flight diversions at three major airports. Simultaneously, Russia launched a record 145 drones at Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moscow regional governor Andrei Vorobyov reported a \u201cmassive attack,\u201d with two homes in Stanovoye, 15 miles from Moscow, catching fire from fallen drones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine Drone Attack on Russia Airports<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A 52-year-old woman sustained shrapnel injuries and was hospitalized with burns to her face, neck, and hands. Russia\u2019s defense ministry claimed it \u201cintercepted and destroyed\u201d 34 drones over the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the attack, Moscow\u2019s airports, including Sheremetyevo International, have resumed operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This largest Ukrainian strike on Moscow coincides with a report from UK defense chief Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, who told the BBC <\/em>that Russia endured its deadliest month since the war began. Radakin stated that Russian forces suffered around 1,500 casualties daily in October, totaling estimated losses of 700,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UK defense chief Admiral Sir Tony Radakin stated that Russia is enduring \u201cenormous pain and suffering due to Putin\u2019s ambition,\u201d with heavy casualties for “tiny increments of land.\u201d He acknowledged, however, that Russia is achieving tactical and territorial gains, adding pressure on Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexander Bogomaz, governor of Russia’s Bryansk region, confirmed via Telegram that emergency services and firefighters were on the scene following the attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia and Ukraine have weaponized commercial drones, escalating production and seeking methods to counter each other\u2019s drone offensives. Moscow has established electronic \u201cumbrellas\u201d over the city, a network of air defenses designed to intercept drones before they reach key targets like the Kremlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine President Zelensky’s Remarks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched \u201ca record 145 Shaheds and other drones<\/a>\u201d against Ukraine on Saturday night. The Iranian-made Shahed drones are low-cost, effective weapons that Russia increasingly deploys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zelenskyy detailed Russia\u2019s use of \u201cover 800 guided bombs, around 600 strike drones<\/strong>, and nearly 20 missiles\u201d this week alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Odesa, Ukrainian officials reported at least two injuries and property damage from an overnight Russian attack. The State Emergency Service stated that fires damaged garages, residential buildings, and shops in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Russian forces captured Vovchenka village in Ukraine\u2019s eastern Donetsk region, as reported by Russia\u2019s RIA news agency on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine also launched attacks overnight, setting several non-residential buildings on fire in Russia\u2019s Kaluga and Bryansk regions, located between Moscow and Ukraine\u2019s northern border. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia\u2019s defense ministry reported intercepting 14 drones over Bryansk, seven over Kaluga, and additional drones over Oryol and Kursk, the latter a region Ukraine had previously invaded in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that North Korean troops had suffered casualties in clashes with Ukrainian forces. The Pentagon recently confirmed that around 10,000 North Korean troops have been sent to Russia for training and are believed to be joining the combat against Ukraine, heightening global concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zelenskyy reported that approximately 11,000 North Korean soldiers<\/strong> are stationed near Ukraine\u2019s borders and are actively participating in combat operations against Ukrainian forces. “There are losses; this is a fact,” Zelenskyy said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
