American Airlines (AA)<\/a> announced its largest-ever summer program to Italy for 2025 on Friday<\/a>, boosting flights to Rome and opening up new routes from cities across the United States. This announcement follows a recent expansion from both Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> and United Airlines (UA)<\/a> in Italy, demonstrating the growing importance of the US-Italy market in aviation and tourism terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simultaneously, this latest move coincides with Lufthansa\u2019s (LH)<\/a> recent purchase of ITA Airways (AZ)<\/a> which was approved by the European Union earlier this summer<\/a>. This agreement has meant that the two airlines have to sacrifice part of their market position on the US-Italy<\/a> sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
