DELHI-<\/strong> Low-cost carrier, Air India Express (IX) <\/a>is set to launch flights to two new destinations in Thailand- Bangkok (BKK) and Phuket (HKT) this winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of October 2024, Air India Express serves 49 destinations including 35 Domestic and 14 international.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Express Bangkok and Phuket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If we check the official website of Air India Express, the booking engine shows Bangkok <\/a>and Phuket. However, the airline is yet to announce the routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This news is confirmed by a Senior Air India representative with Press Trust of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India (AI) <\/a>already operates flights to these destinations from its main hub, Delhi International Airport (DEL). So it’s possible that Air India Express will serve them from the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India is streamlining its network and is also transferring both routes and aircraft to AI Express.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Google flight data, Tata-owned Air India operates multiple daily flights from Delhi and Mumbai (BOM)<\/a> to Bangkok (BKK) using the Airbus A320 family fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, Air India also serves Phuket from Delhi daily multiple times a day using A320 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Express will operate around 2,000 weekly flights<\/strong> in winter 2024-25. Currently, it operates 400 daily flights with a narrowbody fleet of 90 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are 14 international routes served by AI Express: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abu Dhabi (AUH), Doha (DOH), Dubai (DXB), Kuwait (KWI), Ras al-Khaimah (RKT), Riyadh (RUH), Al Ain (AAN), Bahrain (BAH), Dammam (DMM), Jeddah (JED), Muscat (MCT), Salalah (SLL), Sharjah (SHJ) and Singapore (SIN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The above destination shows that Air India Express has a strong presence in the Middle East or Gulf countries. On the other hand, Air India has a strong presence in the Southeast Asian region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, Air India Express announced the launch of two new domestic destinations<\/a>– Jammu (IXJ) and Sri Vijaya Puram (IXZ) [previously known as Port Blair].<\/p>\n\n\n\n
