BENGALURU-<\/strong> Australian flag carrier, Qantas Airways (QF)<\/a> International and Freight Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Cam Wallace visited India for the first time recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He penned his thoughts on his visit to India and also made some announcements regarding more flights to India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas Int’l CEO Visits India<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cam Wallace wrote on LinkedIn that he made a remarkable journey to India and it was incredible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He flew to Bengaluru (BLR)<\/a>, India onboard Qantas-operated direct flights from Sydney (SYD)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Qantas operates two nonstop routes by operating flights from Sydney to Bengaluru and Melbourne (MEL)<\/a> to Delhi (DEL). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas operates 5x weekly flights on the Sydney-Bengaluru route and 3x weekly flights between Melbourne and Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a week-long visit, Cam Wallace met corporate, trade, government, airline partners, and local Qantas staff members in Bengaluru and Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cam Wallace shared an update on the Bengaluru flight and wrote, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“From mid-December until late March 2025, we will be increasing our Bengaluru services to daily to cater to strong demand over the peak holiday season. These flights operate into our partner IndiGo Airlines’ mega hub at Kempegowda International Airport and connect seamlessly with their domestic network across India.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas has a codeshare partnership with IndiGo<\/a>, which provides access to 21 Indian cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is so delighted by the hospitality and welcoming nature that he plans to revisit India soon. He wrote,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I absorbed a lot during my week but nothing more than the immense scale of opportunity. It was also good to know that all the time I have invested in researching cricket statistics was finally put to good use! Looking forward to being back in India soon.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wallace identifies substantial growth potential in the Indian market, citing strong bilateral trade relationships and increasing business connections between Australia and India. The expansion aligns with rising travel demands and economic partnerships between both nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CEO’s assessment reinforces Qantas’s commitment to the Indian market, suggesting potential future route expansions and service enhancements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Updates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Qantas Group is planning to invest $40 million to train pilots in Australia<\/strong>. The airline will develop a new Safety Academy which is expected to be completed by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next year, Qantas will double the scholarships to female students and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to become a pilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the coming 10 years, Qantas Group will create 8,500 jobs for Australians across various departments including Cabin Crew, Engineers, Pilots, and other roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas also enhanced its Frequent Flyer program by establishing a new partnership with Oman Air<\/strong>. This collaboration expands reward seat availability across international routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership creates additional access points to Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East for Qantas Frequent Flyer members. This expansion supplements the existing network of 1,200 destinations available through points redemption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
