NEW DELHI-<\/strong> The Indian government is preparing legislation to make new rules to combat escalating bomb threats<\/a> targeting commercial flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 150 Indian carrier flights<\/strong> received bomb threats within two weeks, reports Press Trust of India (PTI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

India Rule for Bomb Threat<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan announced plans to amend the 1982 Civil Aviation Act. The proposed changes enable immediate arrests and investigations of suspects without court orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The legislation introduces mandatory placement of offenders on no-fly lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current legal framework hampers swift action against perpetrators, leaving most hoaxers untraced. Mumbai police achieved a breakthrough last week as it detained a 17-year-old from Chhattisgarh state for posting bomb threats on airline social media platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

59 Threats Yesterday<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Social media platforms received bomb threats targeting 59 Indian flights Tuesday, marking the ninth consecutive day of aviation security alerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo Airlines (6E)<\/a> faced 23 threats through two separate posts on platform X, arriving at 11:40 PM Monday and 4:00 PM Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) declared these threats non-specific, allowing most flights to maintain their schedules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three IndiGo flights bound for Jeddah required diversions: Flight 6E 77 from Bengaluru landed in Doha, Flight 6E 65 from Kozhikode redirected to Riyadh, and Flight 6E 63 from Delhi diverted to Medina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The threat messages targeted multiple carriers: Air India (AI) <\/a>received 13 threats, Akasa Air (QP)<\/a> faced 12, and Vistara (UK) <\/a>encountered 11. Monday night alone saw 30 domestic and international flights receiving bomb threats across IndiGo, Vistara, and Air India operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police investigation revealed the detained 17-year-old’s motive stemmed from a business dispute. Police Officer Maneesh Kalwaniya confirmed the suspect aimed to implicate another individual through these threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security mandates heightened security protocols across Indian airports. The new directive enforces secondary ladder point inspections before aircraft boarding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airline staff conducts additional hand baggage screening directly at boarding points. Passengers undergo thorough frisking procedures immediately before aircraft entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
