NOIDA-<\/strong> The upcoming multi-nodal, Noida International Airport (NIA)<\/a> also known as Jewar International Airport (DXN) will launch commercial operations on April 17, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility will initially operate 25 domestic routes, three international services, and two cargo flights connecting Noida to 25 Indian cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noida Airport Launch with 30 Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

DGCA <\/a>has authorized domestic flight operations. IATA has approved three international services, though central government clearance remains pending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight trials without passengers will begin between November 15 and December 15. The airport’s development follows a public-private partnership model, reflecting modern infrastructure development strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NIAL CEO Dr. Arunvir Singh confirms initial approval for 25 domestic flights. The airport plans to expand services based on passenger demand growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YIAPL, a Zurich AG subsidiary, has outlined critical timelines for Noida International Airport’s clearances. NIAL CEO Arun Vir Singh emphasizes meeting the April 17 deadline to avoid six-month delays in international approvals and IATA slot allocations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airport’s opening has shifted from September 2024 to 2025. Initial operations by 2025 will maintain the planned 65 daily flights, comprising 62 domestic, two international, and one cargo service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IATA and DGCA discussions continue for international and domestic route approvals. International route assignments depend on bilateral licensing agreements with respective countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo Airlines (6E)<\/a> and Akasa Air (QP)<\/a> will conduct comprehensive flight tests with full crews to verify runway functionality and operational systems before launch. These tests ensure operational readiness and safety compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YIAPL will submit its aerodrome license application in December, expecting approval by mid-March. The airport’s essential information will be available on IATA’s website by February 6, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ticket bookings will commence 90 days before international flights and 60 days before domestic services, starting January or February 2025. The aviation ministry has received a detailed flight schedule report following recent discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Uttar Pradesh government imposed a \u20b921 crore fine on NIAL for delaying operations from September 2024 to April 2025. This penalty demonstrates strict enforcement of project timelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noida International Airport’s development spans four phases, positioning it to become India’s largest airport. The project encompasses 5,000 hectares and includes multiple runways and two terminal buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility aims to achieve completion by the mid-2040s with an annual passenger capacity of 1.2 crores. The infrastructure will integrate cargo facilities and comprehensive MRO services to support diverse aviation operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NIA will operate as the Delhi-NCR region’s third commercial airport, complementing Indira Gandhi International Airport and Hindon Air Base. This expansion addresses growing aviation demands in India’s capital region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airport’s strategic location enhances transportation accessibility for northern India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, Mumbai’s second airport, Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) will also begin its domestic operation by the end of March and International by June 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
