PERTH-<\/strong> Australian carrier, Qantas Group<\/a> regional subsidiary QantasLink (QF) flight from Perth (PER) to Paraburdoo (PBO) made an emergency landing at Geraldton (GET) due to mechanical issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantaslink operates multiple daily flights (someday eight and someday five) between Perth and the mining town of Paraburdoo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas Perth to Paraburdoo Flight Emergency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Qantas spokesperson said, “Qantas flight from Perth <\/a>to Paraburdoo made an emergency landing at Geraldton airport on Monday evening due to mechanical issues. The aircraft landed safely under emergency protocols, with first responders stationed on the tarmac as a precautionary measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas has activated contingency plans to transport affected passengers to their intended destination of Paraburdoo. We will reroute travelers on alternative flights throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident required immediate action from both the flight crew and ground personnel. Emergency services remained on standby during the landing sequence to ensure passenger safety.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline expressed gratitude to affected travelers for maintaining composure during the unexpected diversion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to FlightRadar24<\/em> data, the Qantaslink flight QF1624 departed Perth at 3:42 PM and was expected to arrive in Paraburboo at 5:20 PM local time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After being airborne for around an hour the flight crew reported some kind of mechanical issue with the aircraft and they decided to divert to a nearby airport i.e. Geraldton. The flight landed safely at GET at around 4:50 PM local time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved in the incident is a Fokker 100, registered as VH-NHZ. Further, it is a 30.5-year-old aircraft and is powered by RR engines. It has been serving regional routes for over three decades and was flown by American Airlines (AA)<\/a>, Austrian Airlines (OS), and others before joining the Qantas fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You all will be surprised to know that the Qantaslink Fokker 100 fleet has an average age of 31.3 years. This means they operate some of the oldest regional aircraft in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
