DUBLIN-<\/strong> Ryanair (FR)<\/a>, Europe’s leading low-cost carrier, is set to revolutionize its check-in process within the next six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline plans to eliminate paper boarding passes and airport check-in entirely, transitioning to a fully digital system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryanair Boarding Pass<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Michael O’Leary, Ryanair Group CEO, unveiled this significant change during a recent press conference. The new policy will require all passengers to check in exclusively through Ryanair’s website or mobile app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While passengers will still be able to check bags at the airport, the traditional check-in process will become obsolete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This move builds upon Ryanair’s existing policy, which already encourages online check-in. Currently, only Flexi Plus ticket holders can check in at the airport without incurring additional fees. Other passengers face steep charges for airport check-in (\u00a3\/\u20ac55 per person per sector) and boarding pass reissue (\u00a3\/\u20ac20).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O’Leary acknowledged his personal adjustment to the new system, stating, “I’m one of the last remaining people still showing up with my piece of paper.” He emphasized the widespread adoption of Ryanair’s app and mobile boarding passes among passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CEO highlighted the benefits of this digital transition, including the elimination of airport check-in fees and a smoother travel experience for customers. “Once we get everybody onto the app, nobody will ever again pay for a boarding pass at an airport,” O’Leary explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
