SINGAPORE-<\/strong> ST Engineering’s Commercial Aerospace business has secured a significant 15-year exclusive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) contract with Akasa Air (QP)<\/a>, India’s rapidly expanding airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement covers MRO solutions for the LEAP-1B engines powering Akasa Air’s Boeing 737 MAX fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akasa Air ST Engineering Partnership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The contract encompasses the first Performance Restoration Shop Visit (PRSV) service for Akasa Air’s LEAP-1B engines at ST Engineering’s aerospace facility in Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This partnership extends to Akasa Air’s current fleet of 25 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft <\/a>and the additional 201 aircraft scheduled for delivery over the next eight years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ST Engineering has recently enhanced its capabilities by adding LEAP-1B engine test facilities and expanding its LEAP engine MRO capacity. This upgrade positions the company to provide comprehensive MRO services, supporting airlines like Akasa Air in their long-term growth and operational efficiency goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Saldanha, Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering at Akasa Air, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He emphasized that the collaboration with ST Engineering aligns with Akasa Air’s focus on operational efficiency and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability in global aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saldanha highlighted ST Engineering’s expertise and innovative technologies as key factors in ensuring the continued peak performance of Akasa Air’s fleet. This maintenance strategy aims to deliver a seamless and reliable travel experience for Akasa Air’s customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major MRO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ST Engineering achieved a significant milestone in 2023 by becoming the first independent MRO provider in Asia to join CFM International’s <\/a>LEAP open MRO ecosystem under a CFM Branded Service Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This recognition positions the company at the forefront of LEAP engine maintenance in the region, offering airlines like Akasa Air access to authorized and high-quality MRO services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s Commercial Aerospace business has recently expanded its capabilities to include testing for both LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines at its Singapore facility. This development enhances ST Engineering’s service offerings and solidifies its position as a comprehensive MRO provider for new-generation engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ST Engineering is currently in the process of further expanding its capabilities to include LEAP PRSV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
