ATLANTA-<\/strong> Delta Air Lines (DL) <\/a>is expanding its international reach with a new nonstop flight connecting Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) to Seoul-Incheon International Airport (ICN), set to launch on June 12, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This pioneering route marks the first direct link between Salt Lake City and Asia, offering travelers from the Mountain West and Southwest U.S. regions seamless access to key Asian destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Launches Seoul Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new service will utilize Delta’s cutting-edge Airbus A350 aircraft, providing passengers with a state-of-the-art travel experience. Travelers will benefit from SLC’s recently upgraded terminal facilities and an expansive Delta Sky Club<\/strong>, ensuring a comfortable and efficient journey across the Pacific.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning<\/strong>, emphasized the strategic importance of this new route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Salt Lake City to Seoul service connects customers to Delta’s expanding global network, ensuring comprehensive U.S. coverage to Seoul through nonstop or one-stop flights,” Esposito stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He highlighted the growing significance of Salt Lake City as a Delta hub and the airline’s strong partnership with Korean Air, which together offer unparalleled connectivity between the U.S. and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lee Hag-jae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation<\/strong>, expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential to elevate Incheon Airport’s status as a global hub. He emphasized their shared vision of leading the global aviation market as top-tier airport and airline partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developing SLC Hub<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new route reinforces Delta’s dominance in Salt Lake City<\/a>, where it operates more flights than all other carriers combined. Delta’s extensive network from SLC includes nearly 250 peak-day departures to over 90 worldwide destinations, featuring nonstop services to international cities like Amsterdam, London, Paris, and Mexico City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta continues to invest in SLC’s infrastructure, having opened the 900,000-square-foot Concourse A in 2020 with 50 Delta gates and 19 new restaurants and shops. By 2027, additional gates will further strengthen the hub’s position as a premier domestic and international gateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travelers can enjoy Delta’s world-class amenities at SLC, including the expansive 28,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club. This lounge offers panoramic mountain views from the Sky Deck and a 360-degree fireplace, providing a luxurious pre-flight experience for Seoul-bound passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox welcomed the new route, highlighting its potential to expand Utah’s global reach and foster new cultural and business partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He referenced a recent meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, discussing how this direct connection will strengthen ties between Utah and Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall emphasized the impact of strong partnerships on visitors and residents alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She noted that the new Incheon route from Delta’s Salt Lake City hub will connect the city with over 80 destinations in Asia, showcasing Salt Lake City and the Mountain West as premier destinations for both visitors and residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus A350 to serve the Route<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Airbus A350-900 aircraft <\/a>offers a range of premium travel options, including Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin experiences, delivering Delta’s renowned service across the Pacific.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta One passengers will experience luxurious lie-flat seating, premium bedding, and an expanded beverage selection. The airline’s collaboration with Italian fashion house Missoni provides exclusive amenity kits, enhancing the inflight experience with luxury touches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Premium Select offers wider seats, deeper recline, and elevated service for a more spacious and relaxing journey. All cabins feature a curated food and beverage experience and access to over 1,000 hours of entertainment via Delta Studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline is expanding its fast, free Wi-Fi service, presented by T-Mobile. Currently available on 90 percent of domestic flights, Delta is extending high-speed, streaming-quality Wi-Fi to long-haul international routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company aims to offer free Wi-Fi across its entire global fleet by the end of next year, enhancing connectivity for SkyMiles Members during their travels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
