CHENNAI-<\/strong> Flag carrier of UAE, Emirates Airlines (EK) <\/a>flight from Chennai International Airport (MAA) to Dubai International Airport (DXB) reported smoke on the ground at MAA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, there were 280 passengers onboard the flight. The smoke <\/a>created a panic and havoc situation at Chennai Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates Flight Smoke<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred at night on Tuesday (September 24, 2024). According to flight tracking website, FlightRadar24 data, Emirates flight EK547 <\/strong>was expected to take off from Chennai at 10:00 PM local time, but due to smoke, the flight was delayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight crew promptly alerted airport officials upon noticing the smoke from APU. Technical experts were immediately dispatched to inspect the aircraft. Within approximately 10 minutes, the smoke ceased, according to airport authorities. Fire tenders also arrived at the scene as a precautionary measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auxiliary Power Unit (APU)<\/strong>, a compact gas turbine engine located in the aircraft’s tail cone, provides essential autonomous electrical and mechanical power. Its primary function involves supplying starting power for the main engines<\/p>\n\n\n\n
