Hong Kong-<\/strong> A Bangladeshi passenger aged 47, died on a Cathay Pacific (CX)<\/a> flight from Dhaka (DAC) to Hong Kong (HKG). He fainted during the journey. Hong Kong police got a report about the incident at 8 am local time on Wednesday (September 18, 2024). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man collapsed on flight CX662, Police declared him dead at the scene. They will do an autopsy to find out the cause of his death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passenger Died on Cathay Pacific Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The flight left Dhaka at 2 am local time and landed in Hong Kong at 7:49 am Wednesday. The crew found the passenger unconscious during pre-landing checks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paramedics boarded immediately after landing. The passenger died despite intervention. Cathay Pacific expressed condolences to the family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This incident follows a similar event<\/a> on September 8, when a 71-year-old German passenger died after fainting on a Cathay flight from Hong Kong to Mumbai before takeoff. Crew provided first aid, but the man was declared dead at the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A plane from Ho Chi Minh City to Seoul diverted to Hong Kong when a 47-year-old Vietnamese woman fainted. She died at North Lantau Hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five years ago, a similar incident occurred when a 44-year-old woman lost consciousness on a flight to Hong Kong. She also died at North Lantau Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hong Kong Aircrew Officers Association advises passengers feeling seriously unwell to inform the cabin crew immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Yang Siu-ming advises patients with cardiovascular or respiratory diseases to consult doctors before flying. He recommends delaying air travel after brain and eye surgeries or diving activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To prevent “economy class syndrome,” passengers should walk every one to two hours during long flights. This condition causes blood clots from prolonged sitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
